Once upon a time, in a quaint little town, lived a witch, and she had a cat named Claude, whom she loved very much. She even had him made his own wizard’s robe, complete with pointy hat and magical staff. Together they solved all the strange problems that had everyone else stumped.
It was a beautiful autumn day when the postman brought a letter. The witch grew more worried as she read, and right away started packing her bag. “I must go for a day or two and see my elderly mother the next town over,” she told Claude. “You stay here and take care of the house.”
Now, Claude had plenty of food, friends to ask for more, and a big backyard full of interesting nooks and crannies. But as the witch didn’t return the third day as promised, nor the fourth, he started thinking of the dark, windy forest that lay between the towns. In the end, he donned his robe, put on his hat and, staff balanced across his back, he ventured out into the world searching for his human…
I started writing furry fiction in December 2011. It was instrumental in changing my outlook on storytelling and worldbuilding and allowing me to live a childhood dream.
